Happy New Year! {2012}

It's hard to believe that 2011 has come and gone! We rang in the New Year on Saturday night at home. Shelby was a big fan of the special "Midnight Clock" Quesadilla (or dee-uh as she would say) that she had for supper.

She didn't stay up until midnight this year. That's a tradition that we will start a little later. We put her to bed at her regular time, around 9pm. On New Year's Day (Sunday), Heath had to work. Shelby and I enjoyed going to church...great way to start the New Year, don't you think? She wore a fancy little dress that she got for Christmas. She had on a black sweater with it when we went to church, and when I picked her up from the nursery they had let her take it off. I tried to put it back on her and she said, "No, I can't want to wear my sweater!" Then she started rubbing the ruffles on her dress. I think she was worried that people wouldn't be able to see the dress with a sweater on. :)

We had some black-eyed peas with dinner tonight, so hopefully we will all have some good luck this year. As I was closing Shelby's bedroom door after tucking her in for the night, I heard her whisper one more sweet little "Happy New Year!" I am looking forward to see what 2012 has in store for our little family!
